About us

Built to serve those who serve others.

Omera Education was founded on a simple belief: organizations that invest in their people achieve far more than those that don't. We exist to make that investment accessible, practical, and lasting.

Our mission

We build the organizational capacity that allows nonprofits and mission-driven institutions to achieve lasting change — not through short-term training, but through deep, sustained partnership.

Our story

From a single workshop to a national practice

Omera Education was founded in 2012 by Dr. Amara Osei, a former nonprofit director who experienced firsthand how difficult it was for mission-driven organizations to access high-quality leadership development. The training that existed was either too generic, too expensive, or too disconnected from the real challenges these organizations faced.

She started with a single leadership workshop for a group of 12 executive directors in the Bay Area. The response was immediate. Organizations were hungry for something that spoke to their actual context — the constraints, the stakes, the complexity of doing hard work with limited resources.

Over a decade later, we've served over 200 organizations across 47 states, developed a research-backed curriculum grounded in adult learning theory, and built a team of practitioners who've worked inside the organizations we now serve.

How we work

01

Context-first design

Every program begins with deep listening. We spend time understanding your organization's history, culture, challenges, and goals before designing a single session. There are no off-the-shelf programs — only programs built for you.

02

Applied, peer learning

We believe people learn best by doing and by learning from each other. Our programs blend frameworks and content with structured peer exchange, real-case problem-solving, and reflective practice that sticks.

03

Long-term partnership

A workshop is a beginning, not an endpoint. We stay connected through follow-up sessions, check-ins, and ongoing resources. We measure success not by attendance, but by what changes in your organization months later.

What guides everything we do

These aren't aspirational statements on a wall — they're the principles that shape how we design programs, show up in the room, and measure success.

Long-term thinking

We design for lasting change, not quick wins. Every decision we make asks: will this still matter in five years?

Equity at the center

We apply an equity lens to everything — who's in the room, whose voice shapes the curriculum, and who benefits from our work.

Evidence-based practice

Our methods are grounded in research on adult learning, organizational behavior, and leadership development. We test, measure, and iterate.

Collaborative design

The organizations we serve are co-designers of our programs, not passive recipients. Their knowledge and expertise shapes what we build.

Practical application

Ideas without action don't change organizations. Every session is built around concrete tools, real cases, and clear next steps participants can act on immediately.

Radical accessibility

We offer sliding-scale pricing, subsidized spots, and open-access resources because organizational capacity shouldn't be limited to those who can afford premium consulting.
